Freund-Vector Works With Natoli and Long Island University

Last week, Freund-Vector’s Senior Process Scientist, Mr. Nick Slater, participated in Natoli Institute’s Tablet Manufacturing Process Training @ Long Island University, Brooklyn NY.  Mr. Slater has been a course instructor at LIU Pharmacy (The Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) for four years.

During the four-day event, “Roller Compaction Granulation Technology” and “Wet Granulation: High-Shear and Fluid Bed Drying” was presented to the attendees by Mr. Nick Slater.  During these presentations, there were 4 main areas discussed:

  1. Equipment design
  2. Process principles
  3. Scale-up
  4. Case studies

In addition to presenting, Mr. Slater conducted a “Wet Granulation” hands on laboratory session where attendees participated in the coating process.  During this hands-on experience, attendees performed these actions:

  1. Set Spray gun set and nozzles
  2. Set up operating parameters
  3. Sprayed to an agglomeration target defined by team
